The ASUS ROG Phone 9, the latest in the brand’s popular gaming smartphone lineup, is set to debut globally on November 19, 2024. However, ahead of its official launch, several details about its pricing and features have surfaced through leaks.
Pricing Leak
A retailer listing from ComputerSalg in Denmark reveals that the ASUS ROG Phone 9 (Storm White color, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage) is priced at DKK 9,838 (around €1,320). This marks a potential price hike from the ROG Phone 8, which started at $1,099 / €1,099 for a configuration with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.
This suggests that the ROG Phone 9 may be priced higher than its predecessor, and if the Pro variant follows suit, it could come at an even steeper price.
Wireless Charging and Certifications
The ASUS ROG Phone 9 has also been listed on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) website with model number AI2501, confirming support for 15W wireless charging. Additionally, the device has received several certifications:
- SDPI and TKDN certifications in Indonesia, indicating its upcoming availability in the country.
The phone has also been spotted with a flat screen, thin bezels, and a center punch-hole cutout based on the WPC listing, giving us a glimpse at its design.
Design and Features
ASUS has already teased that the ROG Phone 9 will retain the same design as its predecessor, with one notable difference: the ROG logo will no longer light up. Instead, it will feature ROG text with ASUS AniMe LED panelling. The phone is also confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and is expected to be packed with AI features to enhance the gaming experience.
Launch Date
The ASUS ROG Phone 9 and its Pro variant are scheduled to launch on November 19, 2024, with pre-order details likely to follow soon. Given the leaked pricing and certification details, the ROG Phone 9 is shaping up to be a high-performance gaming device, but with a potentially higher price tag.
